after three days in the veterinary hospital with IV fluids going non stop, my sammy is back home.
this is the first time she has ever spent the night in the hospital.
but all the fluids rehydrated her, and flushed out her kidneys, and brought her blood levels back down into the normal range.
thank you Jesus!
since she has been home, she has done very well. she has a good appetite, drinks water on her own, uses the litter box, and grooms herself.
its the little things in life….
few things have been as important to me on a personal level as this little gray kitty. funny how that works sometimes.
she goes back for another blood test wednesday, to see how well her kidneys are doing on their own. i expect to see good results.

It seems we have very similar commitments to the little people in our lives. I always rescue or adopt mine, and have never regretted any expense except the euthanasia for Boomer. The little guys seem to know that when they are taken in, it is a promise for life. The part that hurts is that their lifespans are shorter than ours. I suppose I’m glad that we know it and they don’t. It would be nice not to worry about anything worse than having one’s claws trimmed. Sammy will be in my thoughts and whatever it is that I do that passes for prayer.
Peace, Doc

Ahh, the life of a cat, its tough. Your sammy looks a lot like our cat Fatty!! Our cat went through the same thing, iv fluids. It must be what they do when they get sick. They dont want to drink or take care of themselves.

Your friends list doesn’t even show up. Something really wrong is going on around here. I’m out of order, MSN is out of order.
The song that I’m thinking about is called Celebration of the Lizardby the Doors. If it’s differant, let me know. LK;-)

While you were posting your comment on my site, I was adding an addendum. Mr. Donnelly and I have spoken to each other and reached a mutual non-defamation agreement. Should anyone else comment on your site, I do not believe it will be -G-

I’ve been wondering how sammy is getting on …trust she is improviing now .
England is very green …all that grass & hundreds of years old trees ..lol
but the urban areas are as you know quite different ….the same as anywhere else really ,it depends what you prefer
we live a sheltered life around here !

I’ve been told that my 16-17 year old cat, who has been left in my parents care, is really starting to show his age. At what point is it the right moment to end his misery? He obviously can’t go on forever—but it would be really sad to lose him, even though I don’t get to viisit that often. :(
