i love my kitty

i dearly love my kitty! wen i first found her, she was little more than two months old, yowling loudly from somewhere in the parking lot of the apartment complex where i had just moved to. my ex husband was in the process of moving out, after we had just moved from washington. it was shortly after january 4th, 1990.

sammy was a wonderful kitten! we bonded close immediatly. she had an intestinal thing, gave her the sh*ts all over. so one trip and a mere $70 later i had some medication to correct the problem, and after a few days of daily baths in the sink and carrying her arond in a towel, she was fine. thenreal fun began!

she would play fetch with a piece of crumpled paper on the carpeted stairs till she dropped. she wouldnt sleep anywhere but with me. she would attack my feet as i walked and prayed. she followed me every where in the apartment. she didnt want to go further than the balcony. she LOVED riding in a box pulled by a cord, and chasing a light beam on the carpet. she loved me. and i loved her!

when i moved. she was fine with it. new apartment, new job, she was ok. then things happened, i lost my job, and i had to put her up with a friend because i also lost my apartment. after three months, i was in a new relationship and a new apartment. when she came back to live with me she not only recognized me, but meowed with happiness to be back with me. awww! my sweet kitty, who i missed so much!

i soon was out again, and had to house her and my other kitten, a siamese, in a storage garage for a month. that was so hard! i visited them every day! when i finally got a new place, the cats were both fat, and the relationship on the rocks. eventually i got a duplex, and moved me and my two kitties in. the siames was back to normal, but sammy was still overweight.

soon i met the beau, and his cat, spook, a black cat born on halloween. same age as sammy, a sweet boy. the beau  and i became a couple, and the three of us moved into the house we live in now. the siamese died of heart failure at eight yrs. rather suddenly. broke our hearts! siamese do sometimes have heart problems.

around 9/11 bothe sammy and spook became ill. spook had a dental infecton that effected is kidneys, and sammy became diabetic. after two yrs and many miracles, spook went to the rainbow bridge to live with sing, our siamese, and wait for us. he had a good two more yrs tho!

sammy lives on. she just doenst want to leave. she has had two kidny failures and rebounded. the first one was with liver failure. God healed her both times, just as He had with spook. spook went when he was ready, just as sammy will.

she still charms us, even tho we have to help her some from time to time. she still loves our company, and sleeping in with us on weekends. she still loves lap sitting, and emitting cat fumes. stronger than any of the other cat’s fumes, i might add. cat fumes emit when a cat is sitting on your chest as you recline, and knock you out cold. very effective sedative. and sleep aid.

so, my tribute to sammy goes on. until she is ready to go, i will do what i need to to aide her in her life. she is my kitty! and i love my kitty!
