the beau and I had the delightful experience of watching several thousand geese fly in to graze the leftover corn in a field near here that had recently been cut down. they arrived like a tornado of wings, feathers, and feet, the sound of their honking as loud as any windy whirlwind. I couldn’t capture the image of this mini twister, but I did get some good shots as they grazed, starting and resettling several times before the sun went down.

Difficult to capture such a vast display of bird like majesty.
But an impressive effort
ya it was impossible to capture what i could see … but it was fun to try!

I am so envious, what an incredible sight. I bet it took your breath away.
it was like nothing i had seen before. especially the spiral flight pattern … and the sounds!

That is one big flock! I know how tough it is to capture them in flight. Back home I liked to go to the Mackay Island Wildlife Preserve and watch the ducks flock in by the millions this time of year.
thats amazing kirsten never seen anything like it we are lucky to see a dozen flying over great pics hope your well xxjen

must be a fantastic feeling, to be really near to them; in spring and autumn, we have smaller flocks of wild geese, maybe up to 100 at once, but not in overwhelming numbers.
it was wonderful. i was quite exilirated.
