i love the ranges of weather in the spring. thursday night a line of thunderstorms went thru here like wild mustangs on the run. follwing them was a hot wind that blew all day. rain came in after that and washed the earth after it had been so well swept. then, later in the evening came a gentle breeze, blowing a light mist around light a dance of particles for our viewing pleasure. and it brought with it a scent of sweet freshness that was entirely intoxicating. i could have stayed out in it all night.
this morning everthing is shiney and bright, and cool. i am eating it up, because i know what is to come later on this summer.
today i am finally sending off the deer jerky i ordered for my son. i sent him one box already, with socks and Ts and sweet tarts, a gaming magazine, and a copy ofthe same splinter cell novel i am reading. funny thing is, he has already read it. figures. we share so many of the same tastes in things. i also included some pictures i have of my real father, who i look like. and since my boy looks like me, now he has two people he looks like. only my father has been gone from the earth a long time now. he died of head injuries three days after wrecking his car some time in the early sixties, somewhere in minnesota. i never got to know him. but still its good to know you look like some one. oh, and he will love the jerky. the wife of a guy my beau works with makes it, and it takes a while. i got two pounds to send to him. he loves jerky. he will be really pleased with this care packeage… 🙂
next weekend is a three day. i am definatley doing my toes and my nails in something dark and quietly dramatic. as long as i keep it some what subdued for work, i can get away with it without being ‘advised’ on it. i hate that. if i were 19 or 20 i might not mind it. but jeezpleez, im a grown up. i know how to conduct myself. but there are always those well meaning but intrusive types that want to ‘give you direction’ when they think you need it, which is usually when you arent doing things like they would. but its funny how these same ones dont take direction well, unless its from someone over them. sigh.
…to be continued…
